We are NorthStar Care Community
We are NorthStar Care Community. Started by two legacy not-for-profit hospices in Michigan – Hospice of Michigan and Arbor Hospice – we have a passion to sustain and enhance the hospice mission. We welcome like-minded hospice providers with a relentless pursuit for quality to consider joining us.
NorthStar Care Community believes everyone in our reach has the right to the best end-of-life experience possible, filled with comfort, dignity and peace. We strive to fulfill that mission no matter what the patient’s age, diagnoses, complexity of care, place of residence or financial circumstances.
NorthStar Care Community members created a collaborative network to reinforce our strengths, diversify our capabilities and share best practices as we continue to improve our expertise. Our scope of services also includes providing physical, emotional and spiritual care for seriously ill patients and their families before the final months of life.
Are you part of a hospice organization who would like to continually improve end-of-life care accessible to all? Together, we will be the shining star that leads the way in expert, compassionate care for the seriously ill.

END-OF-LIFE CARE WITH
COMFORT, DIGNITY, AND PEACE
Members
Founded more than 40 years ago by a diverse group of community volunteers, Hospice of Michigan is the state’s pioneer not-for-profit hospice organization. Today, Hospice of Michigan serves more than 4,000 patients annually in 50 counties across the lower peninsula. As the most experienced provider of hospice care in Michigan, Hospice of Michigan is also the largest not-for-profit hospice in the state, and among the largest recognized 501c3 not-for-profit advanced illness management organizations in the nation.
When someone you love needs care for life’s final months, you want the most experienced and highest quality care available. Started in 1984, Arbor Hospice has been providing expert, compassionate end-of-life care longer than any other provider in our community. We are committed to helping families and enabling individuals to complete their lives with dignity, in comfort and at peace.
PROGRAMS
A child who is seriously ill has specialized needs, and so does their family. With a focus on maximizing the quality of life for every child in our care, we are privileged to offer a wide range of pediatric services – including emotional, spiritual and decision making support for the child, parents and siblings.
For patients who need relief from symptoms and stress of any serious illness – even as they’re receiving curative treatments – our NorthStar Palliative Care team can help improve the quality of life for them and their entire family.
Harnessing the experience of decades of hospice operations across a broad geographic territory, the NorthStar Solutions Group provides an extensive range of clinical and business management services that allow you to stay focused on your core service – patient care.
